STUDENTS' SPEAKING ABILITY THROUGH SMALL GROUP DISCUSSION

The purpose of this study was that students could communicate fluently using English in everyday life, small group discussion strategies to make more active interacting with others. To collect the data for research, writer conduct interview and questionnaire eight grade at Junior High School Bina Jaya Palembang. Each student will be given a paper like questionnaire. author discuss results research has been done, namely technique learning speaking skills eighth grade. From processing, it can seen from statement item no.32 "Small techniques improve ''speaking skills". Most chose 8 (50%) 16 respondents answered fully agree, while rest agree. Then dominant result is balanced. overall showed discussions effectively students' skills, they actively their friends. Allow them have an opinion help each other, without mocking or laughing other.
